Annual Meeting Planned For NAPEX – June 9-11, 2017

A Message From President Nilsestuen

COME TO NAPEX!  Our society is meeting at NAPEX this year.  It’s one of the best annual stamp shows in the country, and it is quite an honor to be recognized as participants.

The show is June 9, 10 and 11, Friday through Sunday.  As in the past, the show will be at the Hilton McLean Tysons Corner.  Rooms are still available as of this writing (mid April) at a very reasonable price.  Reservations information is on the NAPEX site:

The France and Colonies Society meeting will be Friday afternoon from 1 to 4 PM on site.  We have three speakers in addition to a short business meeting, and all members are invited to attend.  Thomas Marra will speak about “Postal History of the French Indian Settlements During the Classic Period,” Richard Aspnes will present “Indochina Labor Corps in France for World War I,” and I will fill the remaining time with some Algerian postal and social history items.

Please join us for some fun that evening, too, when we will join the New York Collectors Club for dinner at a nearby restaurant.

Our society members have entered several exhibits, too, so when you run out of dealers to visit, there will be some very attractive French stamps and postal history on display.  All in all, this promises to be a good time with lots of philatelic scholarship.  So plan to come to NAPEX for a great philatelic time.

 – Ken Nilsestuen, President
